Kiyome Kubo studied at Osaka Municipal High School of Arts and Crafts in Japan, and has a B.A. degree from the California College of Arts and Crafts (CCAC) in Oakland, CA. She is a member of the California Watercolor Association, the Lamorinda Arts Alliance, the
Valley Art Center and the Danville Area Cultural Alliance. She has exhibited her work in many shows here in the Bay Area and in Japan.
Kiyomi Kubo's goal is to develop a simplistic abstract style with an emphasis on color and line. She feels that her strength lies in her use of colors and she enjoys experimenting with different color combinations to discover unique ways to capture the essence of a piece of work. In addition space and form are important components to help add movement and flow. Her work combines basic contemporary style with influences from her background in still life painting.
