Artist's Statement
I am a filipino artist living in the San Francisco bay area. My paintings represent my attempts at creating inviting images with the conceptual use of color combinations, textures and representational images.
My major influences have been contemporary filipino and asian art, the bay area figureative painters, films, and comic books.
The goal of my work is to somehow provide a bridge between different types of genres. Particularly between representational and abstract as well as between contemporary asian and modern american art.
By successfully fulfilling these goals, I hope to find through my journey, an overall success of critical acclaim and recognition. So that more doors will be opened to individuals with the same song to sing.
